How We Will Use Your Responses

The 60 Women 60 Years editorial team will use the information you provide in this form to create a profile for potential inclusion in the book and/or the wider 60 Women 60 Years project.

Your responses may be edited, condensed, combined and arranged to create a coherent profile while seeking to preserve your voice, experiences and the meaning of what you have shared.

If you selected the option to review your profile on your Participant Registration & Release Form, your draft profile will be sent to the email address you provided to the project team.

You will have five (5) working days from the date the profile is sent to you to notify the project team in writing of any factual inaccuracies, significant misrepresentation or other objections to publication.

If we do not receive a response from you within those five working days, you will be deemed to have approved the profile and consented to its publication in the form provided to you, subject to final editorial changes that do not materially alter the meaning of your contribution.

Any requested amendments received within the five-working-day period will be considered by the editorial team. The review process is intended primarily to correct factual inaccuracies or significant misrepresentation rather than to rewrite the profile.

Final editorial decisions relating to style, length, layout, design and publication remain with the 60 Women 60 Years editorial team.

Inclusion in the Book & Our Wider Digital Legacy

We are incredibly grateful for the interest in 60 Women 60 Years and for every woman who is willing to entrust us with her story.

As the book will feature a limited number of profiles, completion of this form and submission of your story does not guarantee inclusion in the published book.

Final selection will be determined by the editorial team, taking into consideration the number of submissions received and our aim to represent the breadth and diversity of Guyanese women, heritage, experiences, generations and geographies.

Depending on the number of stories we receive, we may also create a wider digital collection and web presence celebrating the women of Guyana and women of Guyanese heritage around the world.

This will allow us to preserve and share more stories than can be accommodated within the pages of the book and help us build a lasting record of Guyanese women’s voices, experiences and achievements.

Where appropriate and in accordance with the permissions you provide, your profile, story and approved images may therefore be considered for publication through the 60 Women 60 Years website or other digital platforms associated with the project, even if your profile is not selected for inclusion in the book.

This wider platform will also help us use the visibility and community created through 60 Women 60 Years to support our social-impact ambitions, including charitable activities and good causes that benefit women and girls in Guyana.

Our ambition is for 60 Women 60 Years to create a legacy beyond a single book: celebrating Guyanese women, preserving their stories, connecting generations and using those stories to help create positive impact for women and girls in Guyana.

I only give permission for my story to be considered for the published book and do not consent to my profile being published as part of the wider digital collection.

Sixty women cannot tell every Guyanese woman’s story. But together, these voices can capture something of our heritage, our journeys, our achievements, our wisdom and the many different ways that Guyana lives within us.

And we hope that the impact will extend beyond the stories themselves.

Through the book, our wider digital community and the charitable activities supported by the project, we want to celebrate the women who helped shape Guyana while contributing to opportunities and positive social impact for women and girls in Guyana today and in the future.
